Ultrapeel® Transderm® Digital & Cellupor® Body Shaping Machine

Today we are talking about two of our machines, the Ultrapeel® Transderm® Digital and the Cellupor® Body Shaping Machine

Let us start with the:

Ultrapeel® Transderm® Digital

Dermoelectroporation® System

What is the Ultrapeel® Transderm® Digital?

Ultrapeel® Transderm® is a non-invasive stand-alone drug delivery system, carrying Dermoelectroporation® Technology to deliver an ionic drug solution into the body for medical purposes, as an alternative to injections.

How does the Ultrapeel® Transderm® Digital work?

Dermoelectroporation® increases the skins permeability, just by using some of the skins water-based channels, which are opened by a particular controlled current delivered to the patient and allowing the drug solutions to be able to penetrate down and be absorbed into the hypodermis and muscle membranes.

With its ability to monitor the patients skin characteristics in real time, it can modify the pulse delivery, accordingly, ensuring a 100% delivery success and maximum flexibility.

What treatments can be done using the Ultrapeel® Transderm® Digital?

There is a wide range of applications that can be done using the Ultrapeel® Transderm® Digital:

Hyperhidrosis~ Excessive Sweating

Cellulite Treatments

Wrinkle Treatments

Pre Laser-Treatments

Skin Whitening Treatments

Pre and post plastic surgery sessions

Steroid Applications

Aesthetic applications

Fat deposit treatments

Skin Rejuvenation treatments

And many more

What drugs are available for use with the Ultrapeel® Transderm® Digital?

There are many drugs that can be used with the Ultrapeel® Transderm® Digital:

Type A Botulinum Toxin~ (a neurotoxin used to treat chronic migraines, cervical dystonia, and others)

Phosphatidylcholine ~ (can be used to treat ulcerative colitis)

Hyaluronic Acid~ (can help increase moisture in the skin, and help promote healthy joints)

Aminophylline ~ (helps prevent and treat wheezing, shortness of breath caused by asthma and other lung diseases.

Steroids

Heparin ~ (blood thinner, helps prevent harmful clots building up)

Lidocaine ~ (numbing agent that can be used to relieve PHN post-herpetic neuralgia, burning, stabbing pains or aches)

Vitamins

And many more.

What are the benefits of using the Ultrapeel® Transderm® Digital?

With its ability to target the affected cells or tissues, the drug can be administered directly to the site that needs treatment, increasing the effectiveness while minimizing side effects on healthy cells.

This also contributes to allowing a lower dose of the drug to be administered while still achieving the desired results, reducing potential side effects, and reducing the cost of drug therapy.

Targeted drug delivery also allows for the customization of drug delivery based on the patients needs, such as age, disease stage, genetic factors, and weight, optimizing treatment plans and improving outcomes.

And now for the:

Cellupor® Body Shaping Machine

This machine is designed to treat hard-to-shift pockets of fat non-invasively and with no downtime, it makes it one of the best options for body shaping.

What is Cellupor® treatment?

Cellupor® treatment is a non-invasive treatment that has no downtime and takes around 20 minutes to treat each area.

Using low energy electrical pulses to temporarily open the water channel entrance of the skin cells membrane, allowing for quick penetration of active substances like Caffeine and Carnitine, which are both well known for their fat eating properties. Reducing adipose tissue and cellulite.

Does Cellupor® treatment hurt?

No, it does not hurt, sometimes a tingling sensation may be felt, but this is minimised by the vibration feature which helps give a pleasant and relaxing treatment.

Microdermabrasion (Skin Treatments)

Today we are talking about Microdermabrasion.

What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic procedure that is commonly used to treat acne, scarring and other skin irregularities. It can be used on the face, neck, back, chest and hands. It is conducted by using an exfoliating material such as crystals or diamond flakes and suction from a microdermabrasion machine.

The exfoliating material is pumped using pressure towards the skin, causing abrasion while the vacuum removes the material and exfoliated skin cells.

Microdermabrasion helps to exfoliate or temporarily remove a few top layers of the skin, it can also reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots, making the skin smoother and younger looking.

Can I have Microdermabrasion?

If you do not have Impetigo, Warts, Auto Immune disorders, or Rosacea then you should be good to go, speaking to a professional is the best thing to do beforehand, but especially if you have Rosacea, as sometimes the treatment can negatively affect active rosacea.

Treatment cannot be performed within 14 days of having Botox or facial fillers.

What are the benefits of having Microdermabrasion?

1, Improves the skin’s texture

Microdermabrasion can be used to treat coarse skin, by removing the outer layers of dead skin cells leaving new smooth tissue underneath.

2, Reduces Pigmentation

Microdermabrasion includes treatments that can help even skin tone.

3, Reduce Scars

When done Microdermabrasion can smooth the edges and the surface of a scar, stimulating collagen to produce healthy new skin cells.

4, Non-invasive Treatment

Microdermabrasion helps to exfoliate or temporarily remove a few top layers of the skin, it can also reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots, making the skin smoother and younger looking.

5, Improves fine lines

Microdermabrasion can also help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, stimulating collagen production which may prevent deeper wrinkles.

6, Brightens dull skin

By removing the outer layers of dead skin, Microdermabrasion exfoliates your face and reveals healthy new skin. Making your skin look brighter and healthier.

7, Reduce congestion

Your pores get all bunged up over time, due to make up, general everyday dirt and dust, even sweat and soap can clog up the pores. Microdermabrasion can help to unclog the pores, and it is most powerful when used in conjunction with alpha hydroxy acids.

8, Painless procedure

Due to the crystals been exceedingly small they do not cause any pain, which is a mega bonus. Some say it feels like a gritty face mask, or the rough lick of a cat’s tongue.

Here at Polaris we use the Mattioli Ultrapeel II  which represents the most innovative and technologically advanced medical Microdermabrasion system available for skin and beauty specialists and professional aesthetic operators.

It's disposable delivery kit exfoliates the skin through a jet of inert corundum crystals, abrading the skin in a gentle but efficient way with no clogging.

With its maximum power setting and adjustment feature makes the machine able to be configured for any type of use in complete safety for patients and users and taking care of the crystal consumption, saving on crystals.

Goodbye razor, hello laser.

What is Laser hair removal and how does it work?

Laser hair removal has been conducted on millions of people worldwide, it is the third most performed non-surgical cosmetic treatment in the UK.

Laser hair removal, when conducted by a professional, is a safe way to give you effective, permanent hair reduction anywhere on your body.

The key things to remember when having Laser hair removal are:

1: Use a normal razor 24 hours before your appointment to make sure the area is smooth and clean.

2: Tweezing, Waxing, or plucking the area before or between sessions is a big NO, only shave the area.

3: The area also needs to be free from make-up, deodorant, lotion, and sun cream.

4: Keep the targeted areas out of the sun for 4 weeks prior to your appointment, else the procedure cannot be done.

5: Fake tan can also interrupt your treatment, so do not use fake tan for 3-4 weeks prior to treatment and exfoliate the area thoroughly to remove all residue.

6: Working out, saunas or hot showers, after treatment are not recommended for over 24 hours, as you run the risk of creating a warm environment for bacteria to multiply which can result in spots and irritation. This is due to the heat from the laser staying on your skin for the 24 hours following your treatment.

7: Scrubs, glycolic acid, and retinol creams should be avoided for at least 2 days before and after treatment, chemical peels should also be avoided for 2 weeks before and after treatment.

How it works:

Laser hair removal works by directing an intense beam of light at the hair, which is attracted to the melanin (pigment) inside, causing the hair to heat up and the follicle to be destroyed.

There are 4 stages to hair growth.

Anagen which is the growing phase. New hair growing from the root with an attached blood supply.

Permanent hair removal proves most effective during the anagen phase, when approximately 20% of hairs are in this stage at any given time.

Catagen which is the transition phase. The hair follicle shrinks & the hair detaches from the root/blood supply.

Telegen which is the resting phase. Hair follicle is in the resting stage until a new hair follicle begins to develop.

Exogen which is the shedding phase. When the new hair pushes out the old hair

Laser technicians will use a handy little thing called the Fitzpatrick Scale, (see below) which helps them determine the effectiveness of lasers on the different skin types.

The strength of the laser used is determined based on the skin’s reaction to the light, similarly to how the different skin types react to the sun.

Why have Laser hair removal treatment:

Unwanted hair is a problem for most people. Shaving, plucking, and waxing are all time-consuming, inconvenient, and often painful methods of hair removal, and only offer temporary results. Laser hair removal can remove hair from any part of your body safely, it can also prevent ingrowing hairs, which we all know can be unsightly and painful sometimes even becoming infected.

It also saves you having to endure Regrowth, so you stay smooth and hair free between sessions and after sessions.

Laser Hair removal is a long-term solution and cost effective, some people may need a touch up a few months or even years down the line. Leaving your

skin feeling soft and silkier, this procedure also improves the appearance of your skin while enhancing your muscle tone, it remains one of the best long-term solutions available.

What is Tattoo Removal all about and how it works.

Interesting fact: Tattoos have been around forever, the earliest recorded tattoos to date were found on the body of Otzi the Iceman whose remains were found in 1991, and was estimated to be around 5,300 years old, averaging that he lived between 3350 and 3105 BC. He has around 61 tattoos on his body and scientist are currently still working on how the tattoos were done, they are looking at the possibility they were done with a sharp stone tool and charcoal ash. Check out this link about Otzi the Iceman https://www.sciencenews.org/article/otzi-iceman-tattoos-anthropology-mummies.

These days tattoos are done using machines, and tattoo ink, but over the years countless cultures all over the world have been known to use different methods of tattooing, such as sharp metal implements like a needle or finely sharpened bamboo, which is then used to pierce the skin and an ink solution is then added to the skin where it’s been pierced to create the tattoo. The ink was made from Witch hazel, medical grade glycerine, propylene glycol and the pigment powder. The pigment powder was found in Carbon based items such as soot, bone, and charcoal.

Why people remove tattoos:

The majority of people tend to have their tattoos removed or covered up due to regret, from either having a ex's name removed, or a tattoo that wasnt done by a tattoo artist or maybe doesnt look as good as was expected. Some people just generally change as they get older and realise the tatoo doesnt fit into their lifestyle anymore.

How are tattoos removed?

Q switched lasers work by producing extremely short bursts of energy and can produce massive amounts of power that helps in instantly breaking up even the most stubborn inks and pigments.

Both lasers pass the laser emission through a Potassium Titanyl Phosphate (KTP) crystal that cuts the wavelength in half creating the 532nm energy, allowing for the most effective removal of tattoos, having both the 1064 nm and 532 nm wavelengths means the Polaris Q Switched YAG and Ruby lasers are capable of targeting different ink colours or pigments based on their light absorption ability.

As with other types of laser treatments, darker matter means better absorption and as such, black and other dark coloured inks are easier to remove and can be removed completely using Q-Switched equipment.

Lighter colours such as yellow and green are harder to remove and may require more treatment sessions.

Laser light is absorbed by the ink, which is then broken down into tiny particles which are easily removed by natural body means.

Tattoo removal can be more of an art than an exact science, so it can be difficult to say how many treatments will be needed to remove a tattoo completely.

During your initial assessment, your consultant will assess the age, density, depth, and hues of the tattoo that warrants removal, giving you an estimated range of treatments needed to remove the tattoo.

It can take on average around 6 to 10 sessions (sometimes longer) to remove the tattoo, this can also take several months or even a year as the time span between sessions is around 6- 8 weeks.

And please remember tattoos are meant to be forever so complete removal is difficult. Some degree of scarring or skin discolouration is likely to remain. Decide your design carefully when you get your tattoo.

The Benefits Of Investing in Laser Equipment

Let us start of by discussing the top 3 best-selling products from Polaris Medical Lasers, who are a Uk Based Manufacturer of Laser Hair Removal, Tattoo Removal Laser Equipment as well as other Asthetic beauty Devices.

Coming in top is the YAG Hair removal laser, with its 1064nm laser light this enables the laser to penetrate deeper into the skin enabling the targeting of a broader range of skin and hair types.

Therefore, ensuring permanent hair reduction can be successfully achieved for both men and women.

All areas of the body can be safely treated, using the ergonomic and easy to use hand piece.

When used in conjunction with its cold air skin cooling system the “Polaris BrrEase" cooling device, the clients get greater comfort and relaxation during treatment.

Next we have the Polaris Q-Switched Ruby Laser 694

This tattoo removal laser remains one of the best lasers for the removal of tattoos and pigmented lesions.

With a high power and adjustable spot sizes, treatments are quick and effective.

The light from the laser is absorbed by the pigment in the tattoo but not the surrounding skin.

A combination of light absorption and acoustic shock help to break down the ink into smaller particles so that the body can dispose of naturally.

And here we have The Polaris MagTone Machine

The MagTone Machine is a High Intensity Electro Magnetic Muscle Toning (HI-EMMT) machine that uses a specific range of frequencies that do not allow the muscle to relax between successful stimuli, forcing the muscle to remain contracted for several seconds.

Muscle formation occurs when, muscle tissue is repeatedly exposed to these high load conditions, studies have shown that abdominal muscle thickness increases by an average of 15-16% one or two months after treatment with HI-EMMT.

Voluntary contractions may increase the demand for energy from fat cells. Released epinephrine, signals the fat cells to initiate lipolysis, strong ultra-maximum contraction enhances the release of adrenaline triggering a cascade effect leading to ultra-maximum lipolysis of fat cells.

The free fatty acids (FFAs) overflow causing cell dysfunction and induction of apoptosis (programmed cell death). Dead cells collapse and are naturally flushed away.

Intensive supramaximal contractions stimulate muscle respondence with a deep remodelling of its inner structure, resulting in increased muscle density and volume.

Lipolysis is the metabolic process through which triacylglycerols (TAGs) break down via hydrolysis into their constituent molecules: glycerol and fatty free acids (FFAs). Fat storage through adipose TAG’s and is utilized for heat, energy, and insulation. Hydrolysis is a form of chemical reaction where water is mostly used to break down the chemical bonds that exist between a particular substance.
